Il est titulaire d'un doctorat en finance de l'Université de Warwick. Il est également titulaire d'une maîtrise en finance et économie de l'Université de Warwick et d'un BA en économie de l'Université du Sichuan, Chine. Il enseigne la finance d'entreprise et la programmation Python avec des applications de financement dans divers programmes de maîtrise et de licence. Ses recherches portent principalement sur la finance d'entreprise empirique, la gouvernance d'entreprise, l'économie politique, les analystes du côté vente et les applications de la blockchain. Ses travaux ont été publiés dans la Accounting Review. En outre, ses travaux de recherche ont été acceptés et présentés lors de plusieurs conférences majeures, notamment la conférence annuelle de la Northern Finance Association (NFA), la réunion annuelle de l'European Finance Association (EFA), la conférence annuelle de la Financial Management Association (FMA), et l'American Accounting Association (AAA) réunion annuelle, entre autres.
