Il est titulaire d’un doctorat de l’Université Paris Panthéon Sorbonne et de l'ESCP Business School, d’un DEA en gestion et dynamique des organisations de l’Université Paris Ouest Nanterre et d’HEC Paris. Sa thèse a obtenu le prix FNEGE de la meilleure thèse interdisciplinaire. Ses recherches actuelles portent sur deux secteurs en particulier : l'audiovisuel et l'industrie financière. Ses travaux sont interdisciplinaires, mobilisant la sociologie économique, les études de genre et la sociologie culturelle. Il utilise des méthodologies majoritairement qualitatives. Pierre participe aussi à des projets de recherches collaboratives avec différentes organisations. Il est aussi engagé dans le projet ODILE financé par l’Agence Nationale de la Recherche (ANR-24-CE26-2802). Avant d'exercer son activité d'enseignant-chercheur, Pierre a exercé diverses fonctions en entreprise dans les secteurs des médias et des télécoms.
