Elle a obtenu son doctorat à l'université Bocconi. Avant de rejoindre la NEOMA Business School, elle a travaillé à l'université de Groningen en tant que professeure adjointe. Elle a enseigné la gestion de la diversité aux étudiants du CESEM, la gestion de l'innovation, la conduite du changement, la gestion des ressources humaines et l'organisation aux étudiants du PGE. Actuellement, elle enseigne l'analyse des données et la prise de décision aux étudiants du PGE. Ses recherches portent sur l'évolution et la dynamique des réseaux, le statut, la dénonciation et l'industrie cinématographique hollywoodienne. Les travaux d'Azusa ont été publiés dans le Strategic Management Journal.
